Vape Pneumonia Caused by Adulterated Prefills

In two recent reports from the Centers for Disease Control, doctors found a clear link between Vitamin E and the lipoid pneumonia associated with vaping and e-cigarettes.  The Vitamin E was found in e-juice liquids as well as in THC prefills.  Tests on the lungs of vaping pneumonia patients found very high levels of Vitamin E acetate in all of them.

In Illinois, a survey of people with lipoid pneumonia found that they were none times more likely than healthy vapers to have obtained their THC prefills or ejuice from street dealers or friends.  They were also eight times more likely to have used Dank, which is unlicensed and often counterfeit.

Prefilled cartridges from unlicensed companies, whether or not they look like the “real thing” are likely to contain unknown adulterants, including such yummy additives as pesticides.  Therefore, as MaryJane Farmer said in the earlier article on this subject, “Buy Legal, Stay Safe.”

  1. Thank you for sharing and spreading awareness! Cannabis is really indeed magical. As studies progress, it unfolds a lot of possible uses and applications in science and medicine. I hope this could be the future treatment of a lot of diseases.
